We wanted to Share

When we’re not developing lesson tools or mapping resources across the nation we’re reading the bookcases of books that line the office walls, browsing science mags, and chatting about the latest discoveries in a variety of fields.
Since we’re constantly reading up on industry news and researching  we wanted to take a minute to share some of our staffer’s favorites! These are the fun sites and resources you didn’t know you needed (but that you won’t want to do without!) Check back often as we’ll keep you updated with our latest and greatest finds!

Reading Rockets
Reading Rockets is a national multimedia literacy initiative offering information and resources on how young kids learn to read, why so many struggle, and how caring adults can help.
They bring the best research-based strategies to teachers, parents, administrators, librarians, childcare providers, and anyone else involved in helping a young child become a strong, confident reader. Their goal is to bring the reading research to life — to spread the word about reading instruction and to present "what works" in a way that parents and educators can understand and use.

TEDEd Lessons Worth Sharing
TED-Ed is TED’s youth and education initiative. TED-Ed’s mission is to spark and celebrate the ideas of teachers and students around the world. TED-Ed has grown from an idea worth spreading into an award-winning education platform that serves millions of teachers and students around the world every week.
TED-Ed Originals are their signature content: short, award-winning animated videos about ideas that spark the curiosity of learners everywhere. Every TED-Ed Original represents a creative collaboration between experts. Such experts may include TED Speakers and TED Fellows, as well as educators, designers, animators, screenwriters, directors, science writers, historians, journalists and editors. These original animated videos, paired with questions and resources, make up what they refer to as TED-Ed Lessons.
