Hands on Experience

All of our staff have worked many years in various capacities in the Migrant Education Program (MEP). We put this experience to work when we provide training and assistance. Below is a listing of the types of programming and assistance we offer.

 

Recruitment Supplies for MEP Programs

We also have materials such as Hygiene bags, English Language learning books and much more that can be used when recruiting MEP students and their families. In addition to our basic hygiene kits we have emergency kits, feminine kids, sun safety kits and basic school supply bags. Our bags an also come pre-filled with educational materials such as cards on sun safety, dehydration and more. We can also customize bags depending on what programs different needs.

Program Development

Through our past experience in working with the TN Migrant Education program we have had the opportunity to develop and work in a myriad of different program options. These include organizing recruitment staff into different models (ex. statewide, regional, and district based.), providing training to new programs housed in local districts or regions. We have conducted summer programs, afterschool programs, pre-K programming, and in-home tutoring. We know how to do mobile summer camps, organize state PACs, work with Out of School Youth, stretch your funding, and lots more.

 

Professional Development

We have created our own hands on, standards based, engaging curriculum for K-12 students that has been used all over the country in regular-ed classrooms, afterschool programs, and summer school programs. We have over 120 free units that are available on our website. We provide training on our curriculums as well as a myriad of other subjects such as working with ELL students, developing leadership institutes for high school students or OSY, incorporating STEM into instruction, how to develop successful targeted programs for MEP students, organization of summer programs, effective recruitment of students, and much more.

 

 

Needs Assessment and Service Delivery

The needs assessment should completely drive MEP services. Often programs can get overwhelmed with the paperwork and fail to design and implement programing that actually meets the needs identified. We have tools to assist in this process to help identify needs and provide service solutions for programs of all budget sizes.
