Working Together

Connection is key! Our program offers the opportunity for local industry to share job opportunities to students in the 10-12th grade. The earlier students are aware of possible career opportunities and exploration the more apt they are to choose training opportunities that align with community needs. Employers are able to reach out and share job needs as well as high schools counselors receive training on community employment needs and opportunities. We work to coordinate the job fairs.

Working with employers and schools we work to find students who are interested in paid or volunteer internships with local, regional, and national employers. Our Industry Pathways Program (IPP) is comprised industry-specific summer and school year internships, providing a variety of career activities aimed at helping high school students (ages 17-18) apply their skills in authentic industry settings to gain real-world work experience. As businesses have engaged in the program they have participated in career days and workplace tours, providing job shadowing opportunities and externships for teachers, conducting mock interviews for students, and hosting student interns specializing in their industry.
